Building Update:
Building Fund – the building committee hopes to apply for our construction loan in January. If you are able, please front load as much of your pledge as possible to take advantage of matching funds from CEF. Some rather large gifts came in this past month – a $50,000 gift, a $12,000 gift and a handful of $1,000 gifts. Praise be to God for the generosity of his people!
Old notes:
The Building Committee met with Bill Scott, F.W. Owens, and Ed Krebs, K. Norman Berry, on Sept 22nd. The bid came in around $1.2 Million as expected. The next step is for the Committee to begin work on the loan application and to estimate the total project cost. Once this is complete, it will be brought to the voters for the go ahead to submit the loan application. Keep in mind that the estimate still includes some questions that need to be answered. For example, in what wasy can Builders for Christ help us? We are working with Dale Mueller, BFC, to answer that question. Also, what can the congregation contribute talent and time wise to complete this project? There is still much to be done. Nothing is final!
Did You Know....
The monthly church council meetings are open meetings that anyone may sit in on, bring a concern or express an opinion. There is nothing secretive about these meetings, although there are times when personal information discussed must be protected. Your church council is responsible to you, the voters, to ensure the day to day operation of the physical facility and the spiritual welfare of the congregation. The doors are closed because of noise, not to keep people out.
Did You Know….
At the last Voters Assembly the decision was made to address the problem of the cleaning of our facility by only a few members. It was decided by the Assembly that cleaning will be assigned to each member family. Two families assigned each week. If those that are assigned to clean cannot perform the duties they have the option of asking someone to clean for them (a list of names will be provided) or pay another member to clean for them (suggested $20.00 per week). This action reflects our stewardship responsibilities to the gifts our God has given us. Questions, comments or suggestions may be made to any of the church council members.
Did You Know…..
The Voters Assembly has enacted a reimbursement policy addressing how individuals are to proceed when seeking monetary reimbursement. Copies may be found in the tract stand in the office area of the church.
New Church Offering Counter Policy
If you are on the usher duty schedule, you no longer are required to count the offerings after service due to a new policy ratified by the voters’ assembly. This new policy allows the ushers to attend Bible study after Worship. The new policy is in the tract rack outside the sanctuary. If you would like to be on the new counting team, speak to Lynne Hogan or Rich Poore.
